funk

(no idea why some of this is red and underlined, oh well)
About mid-morning I found myself in a funk, a bad mood if you will.  And then along came Tom, our new neighbor, and his cheerful readiness to meet us and talk about moving down from New York and loving Chick-fil-A just made me smile and just like that the funk was lifted!  Amazing what a simple handshake and a little smile can do.  (I will concede that it is a little sad that a stranger lifted my bad mood, and I had not allowed myself to let Eric or Oliver coerce some smiles out of me but nevertheless I'm glad Tom moved in next door.)  Maybe I'll shake more hands and smile, who knows how many bad moods I might help!

Next time the funk comes I should just remember that life goes by way to quickly to stay in a bad mood!
(can you tell a birthday is coming up, I'm getting all nostalgic:))
