Today Oliver tried on an outfit I had finished up for him last night, and it was way too big. Hmph. It is the second failed attempt in a row; the first sweet romper for spring was too small and now this one is too big. I feel like I'm in the sewing version of Goldilocks, I suppose my next endeavor will be just right! Thankfully, I have been able to tear out and readjust hems and seams to salvage the outfits. The rompers this summer didn't take near this amount of messing-with...hmph again.
Patience, new patterns, new thinking, tearing out, sewing up: appropriate lessons to practice this time of year. Life in the work we are given.
